Not only are X-Force's members more often than not capable and willing to undertake lethal measures, but they've counted among their ranks some of Marvel's most powerful mutants. While this grim work is over necessary, it has also resulted in X-Force becoming a haven for some of the deadliest mutants in Marvel. In the years since, X-Force has gained a sanctioned status from the X-Men leadership, currently serving as Krakoa's intelligence and black-ops team, though their purpose continues to be one steeped in moral ambiguity and violence.
This outlaw band of former X-Men affiliates sought to protect mutantkind from threats in a manner that wasn't conducive to the rule of law.
X-Force was first formed in 1991 by the mutant Cable alongside radicalized members of the New Mutants.
